Coding Audits and Recommendations

We simplify the overwhelming world of coding by reviewing all codes to give you the peace of knowing you’re compliant and accurate.  This is one of the biggest sources of turmoil in most practices.  We know how confusing it is to get conflicting information on coding from one source or another.  Rest assured, coding advice given by Kathy Mills Chang is the most up-to-date and accurate you can find.

  • All existing billing codes used in the practice will be reviewed.  The full scope of this coding and fee audit includes a comprehensive analysis of all chiropractic, physical medicine, x-ray, E/M, and other codes used in the practice.  This service includes a review of CPT code usage for the past 6-12 months, evaluation of the usage ratio, and recommendations for improving it.  This audit will also review the fee schedule of the practice as compared to industry averages and national indices.  Not only will you find out if you’re compliant, but you’ll learn if you’re actually under coding, which is found in more than 50% of the practices reviewed.
  • A comprehensive analysis of existing diagnosis coding procedures will be conducted as well as a review of diagnosis linking to CPT codes.  Full training and implementation of diagnosis pointing will be completed. This could help you find an answer to why you may be struggling with medical necessity denials.
  • Coding recommendations and training will be given for all profit centers in place within the practice.  This is one of the most overlooked areas of reimbursement.  This service includes a review of representative samples of CMS-1500 forms and insurance EOBs.
